PODERE VECCIANO

The wine that uncovers the Earth’s primordial fertility

We love nature and the land, and we constantly seek harmony through the adoption of organic farming techniques:

  • following the natural cycles of the vineyards,
  • ensuring the quality of the grapes,
  • vinifying with the utmost care.

That’s why “Vitetica” was born — a code of conduct and working guide for us, who cultivate this magnificent dream of a new agriculture founded on respect for what we hold most dear: the “Earth”, and for all those who wish to share it with us.

Everything begins with the soil.

Everything is generated in the vineyard, and our daily work aims to fully respect the natural vegetative cycle of the vine and its habitat, preserving the soil’s fertility intact — this means: zero chemicals.

Maximum protection for the soil structure, which is walked on and worked only under optimal conditions—when the soil is at the right moisture level (“in tempera”). Moreover, the tractors we use comply with the strictest anti-pollution regulations and are equipped with low-pressure tires to minimize soil compaction.

In the vineyard, we accompany the natural cycle.

Work is carried out solely to oxygenate the soil, which is usually covered with grass, and the subsequent incorporation after mowing is done only with spontaneous herbs. This is to avoid the use of seeds not originating from the same agricultural unit.

Treatments based on sulfur and copper to protect the vine from common diseases are carried out using highly advanced sprayers that use only one-fifth of the water compared to traditional machines, thus reducing the amount of sulfur and copper we use as our only antifungal agents.

Our vineyard workers, whether performing manual tasks or using agricultural machinery, are properly trained to ensure both the safety of those working and the quality of the operations.

In Winery

Everything begins when the grapes arrive at the winery, well preserved in their fruit integrity, and then carefully sorted to separate excellence from more ordinary quality. However, we believe that the most important selection work must take place throughout the entire vegetative cycle and development of the grape cluster.

We carry out slow crushings and gentle, non-forced pressing of the grapes, resulting in musts that usually do not require specific technical or oenological interventions. Quality naturally comes through, showcasing all the work done in the vineyard by our winegrowers.

Nothing extreme—we don’t like to alter the natural dynamics behind the creation of our wine. The less we intervene, the more it grows “strong and healthy,” carrying within itself—and to those who drink it—all its vitality and that touch of rustic rural character that defines our philosophy.
Our electricity needs are fully met by a photovoltaic system: just as the sun ripens the grape, it also provides all the energy needed to reach the bottle. Over the years, we have enriched our experience with sound principles of organic and “Synergistic” agriculture, which bring us back to a way of living and cultivating the land with the same wisdom as those who came before us: farmers, breeders, laborers who, despite lacking today’s opportunities, managed to establish a profoundly heartfelt relationship between sky and earth.
